We want to showcase our updated claims information page and remind you how to view your book of business. Read on for more information!

We're Claiming Some Updates

Our claims information page has a new look - check it out here! In case you lose power and/or internet during a storm, be sure to save a recent copy of the page onto your computer by selecting either the "Excel" or "CSV" option on the right side of the screen.

As a reminder,the claims filing information can be found in the policy itself, which provides toll-free numbers that anyone can use to report a claim. Claims should be submitted directly to the insurance carrier, who will then assign a claim number and an adjuster. Once we receive this information from the carrier, we will forward a copy of the acknowledgement to the agency on file.

Where's Your Book of Business?

To view your entire book of business, easily log in to the Agent Portal and follow the instructions found here.

Update a Policy with Ease

If you need to update a Connect or Policy Plus policy, please visit our Agent Portal and follow the endorsement instructions found here.

For Marketplace policy updates, please log in to Marketplace and follow the endorsement instructions found here.

If you do not currently have access to the Agent Portal, please contact our Agency Services Department at 866-370-6505 or email agencyservices@orchidinsurance.com. Please note, you must be the agency principal or designated admin to update policy information via the Agent Portal.

Builder's Risk Coverage in NJ & NY

Unexpected events can happen when your client is building their new home or revamping their existing residence, which can result in costly delays. Builder’s Risk, also known as Course of Construction, is a specialized policy that protects your client’s property and materials during the construction process. Learn more about our coverage details below and talk to your clients about the benefits of a Builder’s Risk policy!

Marketplace Renewal Functionality Is Ready!

As your policies come up for renewal, you will be accessing them through the renewal dashboard in Marketplace. Review the important renewal process information below and register for training today.

What you can expect from Orchid:

  • Renewals with our proprietary carriers will be viewable in Marketplace

    • Renewals on the dashboard will be viewable approximately 60-75 days before the effective date

    • Policies that originated in Marketplace and policies that are rolling over from Connect and Policy Plus will be visible in the renewal dashboard

  • Brokerage and Digital Partnerships will remain in Connect and Policy Plus until later this year

    • ​Continue to monitor your email for further communications

    • Review the Orchid System Table for assistance with proprietary vs. brokerage business

  • Direct bill renewal offers and invoices will be mailed to the insured (and mortgage, if applicable)

  • An automated email will notify you that a renewal offer is available

What will be expected from you as the agent/agency:

  • Assure your client that a renewal offer is coming, but that it may be approximately 30 days in advance of their renewal date

  • Review the renewal offer in the Marketplace system

  • If changes to the offer are required, contact us at 1-866-370-6505 to speak with an Underwriter

  • Once the renewal offer is ready for issuance, complete the following in Marketplace prior to the renewal effective date

    • Verify that the mortgagee and billing address are correct

    • ​Complete any state form requirements in Marketplace

    • Complete any E-signature requirements

    • Ensure payment is made in full

Our 2025 Summer Interns

This summer, we welcomed two interns, Trey Gill and Jonathan Brink, to the Orchid family and over a very busy 6 weeks, they had the opportunity to spend time with each team, visit both our Tampa and Vero Beach offices, and go in the field for some agent visits!

 

Here are 3 key takeaways they shared:

- Team collaboration is important both within a department and across departments.
- Never burn bridges. Cultivate relationships as you pursue opportunities inside or outside your current industry.
- Your time is valuable! Pursue what you are passionate about.
